Pictures from the venetien carnival in Annecy. This awesome event takes place every year during the month of february, usually a few weeks after the one in Venice ... The costumes are wonderful, this is the kind of event you cannot afford to miss.
My personal tribute to the place I'm living in. Annecy has a lot of nice buildings ranging from old to extremely old and wandering through the old city center is like travelling back in time, through different eras ... a great experience. To get that specific feeling in my work, I tried to move modern elements out of the frame and applied a vintage-like post-processing to the pictures.
Pictures taken during Rollerblade/Slalom sessions in Annecy.
All the pictures were shot in full color and the post-processing was done in Photoshop.
I converted each picture to B&W using a monochrome channel mixer layer,
then I edited the layer mask to let the color go through again in some parts of the picture.
This was sometime tedious, depending on the scene complexity, but I think the result was worth it.
Note that the colors you see are always the original colors of the picture. I didn't recolorize anything.
